These are some additional instructions for assembling the large Christmas tree type cupcake stands. The only real difference is connecting the two pieces of the support rods.
Fully assembled stand
This is the large base piece and the top tier. Note the sticker on the top tier. This is the bottom of the tierwhere the rod will be inserted into when you get to the top. If you see the sticker when you put the top tier on, you have it upside down. It makes a HUGE difference so be careful.
Find the half of the rod with the blue tape on it. This is the lower half of the support rod which screws into the base. After you remove the blue tape, leave the nut and washer where they are. Don't remove them.
Insert the rod into the base as shown in the general assembly instruction video here:
After the rod is inserted, stack the first 6 tiers with the spacers. DON"T use the red spacer yet.
You should end up with the same look as in the picture above.
This is the rod coupler that joins the 2 pieces of the support rod together. I have omitted the red spacer that goes here for clarity
This is the red spacer. Note the depth of the centering disc inside. The bottom has a centering disc that is flush with the bottom of the spacer.
Once you have the first 6 tiers stacked up (like the fourth picture) you'll install the red spacer with the open side facing up.
You'll now connect the 2 rods together by screwing the rod with rod coupler onto the rod that is already installed. Screw it together until it stops, then take a wrench or pair of pliers and firmly tighten their connection by turning the rod coupler.
Once the 2 rods are joined together continue the assembly. When you get the top tier on, make sure all your holes in each tier for the lights wires are lined up. After that is done, tighten the top tier up snug enough for the stand to feel secure.
